To have or not to have..
I am working an average of 11 hours daily in case any of you are wondering where am I. This job I am having is damn gosu(good in korean). I work with 5 friends of mine together, get paid 10 bucks an hour, get free meals and snacks daily and most importantly of all, free parking. We get lots of freedom doing what we deem fit to do. We can come in to work anytime of the day and end work anytime we want. Of course after writing this paragraph I feel obliged to give thanks to ms elissa loi(or is it mrs elissa tong) for this amazing job.
The boss(his name is patrick and I call him by his name) is a damn nice guy who happen to be from ACS. Although he estimates that he will lose 50k in the current project we are doing, he never loses his temper and seems to be on top of the world most of the time(though I estimate he is gonna lose more than 50k judging by the way things are going).
Of course in life good and evil must be balanced out. I met this damn Mitsubishi Lancer driver just now on the way home who was trying to overtake me on a merging lane. He was behind me at first then I saw him starting to accelerate and trying to get past me on the left. Now this brings us to the WORD of the day(yeah I just ripped it off stephen colbert).
EGO.
This hasu(make a guess yourself what this means) driver really has a huge ego. He wants to overtake me with his Lancer just to feel good about himself. One hell of a joker. I am usually like a peaceful driver just listening to music and driving but I really can't stand people who pull off this kind of ego-boosting stunt. Naturally, I just had to deflate his ego. Lets skip the details of how I did it. It will be quite hypocritical for me to type out all the action and stuffs as I feel that I will end up being the egoistic one but however PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ME ABOUT IT ON MSN OR REAL LIFE! (just kidding)
But there are CEOs and other big shots out there who owe it to their egos that they are what they are today. They feel that they are better than other people thus they knowingly or unknowingly work harder than the other people and achieved what they have today. Lots of egoistic BMW and Merc drivers out there.
Patrick has a masters in computer engineering and runs a company that can afford to lose 50k in a month(he does not make any profit in this month too, its a double negative) and lives life without any inflated pride or self-importance in himself. He made it in life.
Or maybe you should have a huge ego but not flaunting it? Dictionary.com gave me 10 explanations of the word ego but I can't seem to grasp the whole psychological issue of it.
So that brings us back to the topic. I hope this post has been somewhat interesting for you. Please feel free to post your comments in the tagboard on the bottom left hand side of the page.
Yar right. You think I will be so stupid to put a tagboard on my blog? Cheers.
